Historic Preservation Commision

Historic Preservation has become a major factor in the comminuty and ecomomic development of Tn's towns and cities. A number of communities across the state have enacted historic district zoning, and historic preservation is incorporated in many city and county planning efforts. The City of Cleveland recognizes the importance of revilatizing older residential areas of the city as a part of its economic goals

In 2004 the city of Cleveland enacted a Historic Preservation Ordinance. The ordinance is a seven member historic preservation commision. Included in the responsibilities of the HPC is the review of plans and applications for construction, demolition, and alterations within local established districts.
